an overview of poulsbo

Poulsbo, Washington is a delightful community with a Scandinavian heritage, located on Liberty Bay toward the Northern end of Kitsap County. With a charming Historic Downtown overflowing with shops, art galleries, restaurants, bakeries, and three marinas, there is something for everyone. Rent a kayak to explore the bay or sit in the Austin Kvelstad Pavilion enjoying a cup of coffee while taking in the beautiful views of the Olympic Mountains. Poulsbo is also home to Central Market, a destination marketplace with fresh local offerings as well as typical grocery items. The Olhava commercial center hosts larger retailers such as Home Depot, Walmart, and Office Max, to name a few. A twenty-minute drive to both the Bainbridge and Kingston Ferries, “Little Norway” provides an easy connection to the eastside communities of Seattle and Edmonds and is also a gateway to the grandeur of the Olympic Peninsula. Annual festivals include Viking Fest, Arts by the Bay, Fireworks on the Bay, and the Santa Lucia Festival. Homes in this community range from the original historic homes to new, contemporary developments.
